Lawyer denies Hayden attempted suicide
Lawyers of Hayden Kho Jr. denied that their client's recent hospitalization was due to attempted suicide by drug ingestion.
“He was cleared by doctors...it wasn't drug-induced…there is no alcohol substance. He was not drunk. Hindi po totoo 'yong rumors na when he was brought to the hospital, he was unconscious,” Atty. Lorna Kapunan said on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Dec. 8.
She emphasized that Kho’s recent admission in two hospitals, one in Cavite and the other at Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila, were due to stress-related symptoms.
“He has accepted that he has come to trauma and it’s the trauma which should be addressed. Hindi namin sinasabing gumaling na si Hayden Kho. Ang sinasabi lang namin, he’s not suicidal,” said she.
Kapunan said that Hayden, who was released from the Manila Doctors Hospital on Dec. 8, suffered from “intestinal flu, although stress-induced gastric ulcer is also being considered.”
The lawyer expressed disappointment over the cancellation of Hayden's license to practice. She was also aghast to have heard rumors of an impending disbarment case to be filed against her and other lawyers who were hired by the Khos.
“Nagiging away na ng mga lawyers,” she said. “Sana huwag nang palakihin. Katrina has moved on. I understand that she’s doing well and we’re very pleased about that.”
Kapunan added: “Pamasko na lang nila sa pamilya [Kho]. Pasko na. Let’s forgive. Let’s leave it to the legal system.
“Up to now, they are still investigating who is responsible for the distribution and exploitation of the sex video.. The Department of Justice has not made a finding. ‘Yan ang nakakalimutan ng lahat.”
