DoLE distributes another set of ‘Negosyo sa Kariton’ carts
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – After the success of the Negosyo sa Kariton (Nego-Kart) launching last month, the Region 7 office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE 7), in partnership with this city’s Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) and Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., has recently distributed the second batch of the said project that benefited at least 33 ambulant vendors here.
Recipients of the Nego-Kart this time are the members of the Mandaue United Vendors Association (MACUVA).
It can be recalled that last month, the first batch of recipients were from Saint Joseph in Tabunok, Talisay City with 35 carts, Barangay Labogon in this city with five carts, and 10 carts for Cebu City.
Nego-Kart is a project for ambulant vendors in major cities of the country, which aims to assist recipients in making their existing livelihood undertakings grow into profitable and sustainable business.
It will also provide the beneficiaries with training on production skills – if necessary, entrepreneurship and business management, and facilitate the issuance of business permit to operate in designated areas.
Meanwhile, recipients of the second Nego-Kart distribution were identified by the TIPC, while DoLE 7 has disbursed around P229,900 as its counterpart funding for the said project.
DoLE 7 Regional Director Elias Cayanong explained that the carts are made according to the needs of the vendors, which cost P15,000 each, while additional funding will be given as a start up capital.
“The project was designed to increase, upgrade and diversify our beneficiaries’ products and services so that it can be marketed to more costumers and buyers,” he said.
Moreover, the Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. also provided coolers on each kart and Coca-Cola products.
