Proving that the latest technology need not come at a high price, AOC, the Taiwan-based manufacturer of popular CRT and LCD monitors and LCD TV’s recently unleashed its latest line of LED monitors.

Superior to the more conventional LCD monitors already out in the market, the new AOC monitors namely the V22+, the e936Vw and the e2236vw all make use of LED technology. LED which stands for Light Emitting Diode was actually first introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962. What makes this technology more ideal for digital display systems is the fact that it creates images using white, light emitting diodes (hence, the acronym) that uses less energy and offer more precise control of contrast, color and clarity.

Until recently, however, LED lights have basically served as a backlight for earlier LCD models and high definition TV sets.
Newer LED monitors positions the LED on the side of the frame resulting in vivid color saturation, crisp, minute detailing, even in darker scenes and distortion-free viewing in rapid motion sequences.

Jason Cheng, President and CEO of Glee Electronics, Inc., representing AOC in the Philippines says that by incorporating LED technology into their monitors, “AOC continues to provide the best value in display technology by offering these new monitors at surprisingly affordable prices.”

Starting for as low as P6,795 for the 19-inch, entry-level e936Vw up to a still reasonable P11,295 for the 22-inch top of the line V22+, the new monitors that come in glossy, piano-black finish with sea shell texture also provide brilliant screen performance, high response time and high contrast ratio, environment-friendly standards and low power consumption of up to 78.38 percent for the e936Vw.

Ula Ladrillo, Marketing Executive for Glee Electronics adds that “because of these value-added features that have also been the hallmark of AOC monitors over the years, AOC now ranks number one in the country with a 27 percent market share for monitors in the non-bundle category and a 21.6 percent share in the total monitor market as per the 2008 data released by the Interactive Data Corporation (IDC).”

The new AOC monitors are also compatible with current computer systems including the latest Windows 7, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems.
