Gadgets on bloggers' wishlists

After five years of being in the blogosphere, I can say for sure that bloggers are some of the most gadget-minded people there is! And since they're not affiliated with any publication outfit, they really save up to acquire the latest gizmos, perhaps out of their Google AdSense earnings. Some get it as gifts from their loved ones, and the lucky few get it as freebies from PR companies.

Whatever the source, bloggers do live by the gadgets they own. For how else do you take photos, share videos and type those blog posts?

Thanks to an Apple-loving husband, I blog on an aluminum Mac (sold these days as the MacBook Pro).

I also have an iPod Touch which I hardly use, an iPod Nano as well as an iPhone which am going to trade for some other brand these days. The cellphone I use on a daily basis is a cheap Nokia Supernova 7210 which serves my purpose for a basic and slim phone.

For taking pictures, I have a Canon 350D (also known in the US as the Digital Rebel XT) but since this proves too bulky during simple coverages, I resort to a simple point-and-shoot digicam.

These days, I dote on my newly-acquired Panasonic Lumix LX3 which we bought because it got good reviews from fellow bloggers. Being a proud owner of the Lumix, I can understand why.

It takes vivid, bright photos and functions almost like a DSLR for almost half of the size. It's very easy to carry around wherever I go and has user-friendly buttons. You can select from a variety of scene modes, adjust the white balance, and even choose to capture in RAW format. Overall, I am greatly satisfied with the Lumix LX3 and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

Anyway, I asked some of the country's top bloggers on their dream gadgets for Christmas or the early part of 2010 and my question yielded interesting answers.

My dream gadget is actually a portable netbook (if only this two-letter company stayed true to their word to give some reporters media discounts. As it turned out, oh-promise-me lang pala. Ouch).
Now the wish lists of other people:

Azrael Coladilla (azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com): My dream gadget will be a handheld gadget that can act as a mobile phone with wifi, with 2 sim slot, 12 megapixel camera with 10x zoom, qwerty keypad, with lots of apps for my social networking lifestyle, gaming, photography and blogging.

Noemi Lardizabal-Dado (aboutmyrecovery.com) I want a new digital camera, the Lumix LX 3 or latest model since the LX 3 seems out of stock. My daughter owns one and I love the quality of the photos.

Karla Redor (rockersworld.com) Lumix GF1 or the Lumix LX3. The Canon EOS 500D was on my list but I have it already :)

Anton Diaz (ourawesomeplanet.com) MAC Tablet PC!!

Jonel Uy (letsgosago.net) I want to have an Apple iPhone 3G very soon, will you be my Santa Annalyn? :)

Dine Racoma (dine.racoma.com.ph) I would love to buy for myself the latest MacBook Pro to replace my 3-year old MacBook which is ready to be handed over to one of my kids. SexyMac (that's my MacBook) has been my working buddy for most of my waking and working hours for 3 years now. And yes, if not for Christmas, but my birthday is on February. That's a promise!

Jehzeel Laurente (jehzlau-concepts.com) A Fargo HDP5000 ID printer and HDPii financial card encoder from HID Global with double-sided printing and laminating module, bundled with a 1-year free supply of CR-80 magnetic cards, smart cards, and ordinary blank cards, so that I can print IDs with holographic films and clone secure government issued IDs. Hehehe. :)

Melo Villareal (outoftownblog.com & pinoycravings.com) I want to buy 13' Macbook Pro, its as big as the one Im currenty using but its thinner and a lot more lighter.
