It’s the very first time that the megastar, Ms. Sharon Cuneta, is appearing in a Regal Films presentation and for this she has expressed great pride.

“I’m really proud to do this ‘Mano Po’ movie,” she said in a recent interview. After doing more than 50 films in her illustrious acting career it’s only now that she was given the chance to star in a Regal movie, and with multi-awarded Joel Lamangan yet at the helm.

“Mano Po 6” is also Sharon’s first Metro Manila Film Festival entry after six years. Her first MMFF entry was “Crying Ladies,” made in 2003 under the direction of Mark Meily. “This is my debut appearance in a Regal film. I’m happy to become a Regal Baby,” she smiled broadly.

“Mano Po 6,” written by Roy Iglesias, is being touted as the biggest and most expensive franchise of the “Mano Po” series that started in 2002.

Regal Entertainment matriarch Lily Monteverde revealed that it’s a dream-come-true for her to finally get Sharon to do a movie for her film outfit. “I kept on saying that before I retire, I want to get Sharon to make a Regal movie. I’m really happy that she said yes to me to do ‘Mano Po 6.’”

Sharon, who was last seen in the comedy flick “Best Friends Forever” with Ai Ai delas Alas early this year, is happy to return to the drama genre with “Mano Po 6.” In the movie, she reunites with her favorite leading man, Christopher de Leon, who plays her husband.

“Mother Lily has been offering me to do a movie for Regal since the late 90s,” Sharon disclosed. “When I got back from Boston after two miscarriages, Mother Lily was the first one to offer me a film project even if I was overweight then. After that, they at Regal were really just waiting for the right material to present to me.”

With “Mano Po 6,” Sharon joins an impressive roster of premier actresses that have starred in the award-winning Regal Films franchise. The list includes Ms. Susan Roces, Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Maricel Soriano, Kris Aquino, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Judy Ann Santos and Angel Locsin.

“The fact that great actresses were my predecessors in ‘Mano Po’ adds up to the pressure of working in this movie,” Sharon said. “The public might have too high expectations from me. But I vow to give my best for this project.”

So, is she expecting a Best Actress award from the MMFF for “Mano Po 6?”

Sharon answered: “Who doesn’t want to win as Best Actress? But I don’t want to go to work with the thought that I want to win an award for this movie. It’s nice to be able to do a memorable film that will be remembered years from now.”

Just like her predecessors, Sharon had to learn Chinese to deliver some of her lines in the movie. She worked with a language coach on the set to help here with her dialogues. The megastar also filmed highlights of the movie in Beijing with some of her co-stars.

Sharon also expressed pleasure to once again work with the multi-awarded Joel Lamangan who handled her in films like “Ngayon at Kailanman,” “Magkapatid” and “Walang Kapalit.”

“It’s nice to work again with Direk Joel. Since I was in the 20s, I’ve been working with him already. I’m very comfortable with him.”

The powerhouse cast of “Mano Po 6” includes Zsa Zsa Padilla in a kontrabida role; Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista, Boots Anson-Roa, Ciara Sotto, Ryan Eigenmann and Kris Aquino in a special role as Sharon’s best friend. Also featured in “Mano Po 6” are JC de Vera, Nicole Uysiuseng, John Manalo, Glaiza de Castro, Zoren Legaspi, Niña Jose and Ricky Davao.

Mocha’s advice  to Krista

For Mocha Uson, the lead vocalist/dance artist of Mocha Girls, PMPC’s Best Dance Album awardee for this year, the “kissing scandal” involving her and Krista Ranillo is no big deal, as she has done the same act with other celebrities like Jaycee Parker, Maui Taylor, Katya Santos, Andrea del Rosario, Aiza Marquez and also with a bevy of international models.

All these, it is said, are documented in the proud and self-confessed bisexual’s blogs and kept in the state-of-the-art “photobooks” of Kis Photobook Maker Kiosk for posterity and for the world to see.

Just recently, at the height of the alleged romantic liaison between Krista and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, she advised her friend “not to mess around with married men and engaged men as well. This was out of concern to her friend and in keeping with her motto “to make love, not war.” Both Mocha and Krista used to write “sex-friendly” advices for the defunct Maxim magazine. Like Krista, Mocha is also a TV and film star.
She is a contract star of GMA Artist Center and performs regularly at “SOP.” She has appeared in the soap opera “Twin Hearts,” among others and was also officially launched in a sexy horror flick “Sumpa” ala- “Jennifer’s Body” of Megan Fox opposite hearthrob Joross Gamboa.

Mocha Uson has the mindset of sexologist Margarita Holmes and the irreverence of the iconoclastic Pamela Anderson. Her blogsite www.mochauson.com textualizes her experiences with men including “how to’s” towards a more zestful sex life with either the opposite or same sex partner. She is very different from other sex gurus like Asia Agcoili and Paloma in that she practices what she writes about and blogs for the universe even her daring adventures with unabashed photos to boot, one of which was the hot snapshots she had with Krista which led others to speculate yet about the alleged sex video of the two.

Unlike others who merely pay lip service to their writings if they do at all, Mocha does it better than her predecessors to blog from the nose of her mouse in actualizing all the limitless boundaries of a healthy, more fulfilling sex life recorded in photographs and videography as well. The recorded hits to her blogs are more than overwhelming. Men, bisexuals, and lesbians from all walks of life and sexual preferences are tracking down her blogged sexcapades like mad.

In one of Mocha’s road shows in Dubai with the Mocha Girls (Bez, Grace, Heart and Hershey) she posed totally naked in the balcony of a hotel, a tough act to follow in a conservative Middle East country. She did the same in her travels to the USA. The Mocha Girls are the toast of high-end events and corporate shows.

Actually they are fully booked for overseas performances. Their local stints include: Every Monday at Bagaberde, Roxas Blvd.; Tuesdays at Mugen, Metrowalk, Pasig; Wednesdays at Bluewave, Macapagal Ave; and Thursdays at Hard Rock, Makati. The group is also slated to do a series of performances in Guam in January and in mainland USA. Visit their blogsite for details.
