Healing the world and living our dreams
Welcoming the New Year can be exciting, filled with high anticipation and expectations. It is that time of year when many people make New Year resolutions to improve their lives.
As the year 2009 ends, many reflect on the contrast between the fortunate life for some and the struggle for existence that confronts others.
As a nation and as individuals, we have the capacity to help make our country and the world better.
Opportunities to do so abound among the challenges of 2010. A New Year gives us an opportunity to reflect on the year that was, to examine our achievements, and consider expectations of a better future.
2009 was certainly an eventful one, with our world changing dramatically in the past year. In 2010 we face the prospect of hugely significant adjustments.
As in any year, there is the potential for difficult times but we should make the best in the coming year. Times may well be tough but there is no reason for us to be resigned.
Any year is rich with opportunity; it is only a question of attitude. One way to ensure that 2010 starts off on a positive note is to enjoy the celebration. This is a time of new beginnings and the celebration of life.
