Datu Unsay town Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. pleaded not guilty to the 41 counts of murder charged against him for the killing of 57 people which included about 30 journalists.

Only one witness, Ricardo Diaz, an official of the NBI, gave his testimony.

The trial will resume on January 13, 2010, when the petition for bail will be tackled and 12 more witnesses' testimonies will be heard.

Artist sketches depicting the trial were also revealed after the conclusion of today's proceedings as live media coverage was not allowed.
