2 dead in QC fire

Two women died after their two-storey house on Avelino Alley, J. Francisco, Brgy. Krus Na Ligas, Quezon City was gutted by fire early Thursday morning, Feb. 9.

The Quezon City Fire District (QCFD) said that the victims, a 40-year-old woman and her daughter, 17-18 years old, were both trapped inside their house during the fire.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was raised to first alarm at around 2:39 a.m.

It was declared under control at around 2:55 a.m. and was extinguished at around 2:58 a.m.

Authorities placed at P24,000 the estimated damage caused by the blaze.

The QCFD said the fire was reported to have originated from the bedroom on the second floor of the victims’ house. Its cause is still under investigation.
