The three-year romance between Shaina Magdayao and John Prats has gone kaput.

TV host Kris Aquino revealed the information on “Showbiz News Ngayon.”

“Nakasabay ko siya (Shaina) sa airport noong paalis kami noong Dec. 26. We were headed for Bangkok, she was headed for Hong Kong. Sabi niya, 'Ate gustung-gusto kitang tawagan all throughout Christmas week and the week before Christmas.' Kasi 'yong in-air natin (SNN) na parang okay pa sila (Shaina and John) and all, was done two weeks prior to that.

“She said, 'Sana hindi na lang nilabas.' She wanted to ask me daw but she was nahihiya to say that. I had dinner with her and a long conversation Saturday night,” Kris shared.

According to the TV host, Shaina is still hurting from the breakup and so she keeps quiet about it.

“Siyempre, who would want to talk about bad news and about being hurt?” Kris quipped.

Still, Shaina still considers John a friend. “The door to friendship remains open,” Kris related.

Ever prying, Kris told viewers that she asked Shaina why her photos with John are still displayed in the young star's Blackberry.

Shaina, according to Kris, told her: “Eh, ate, hindi naman puwedeng palitan nang ganon-ganon na lang. Eh lahat pa nga ng pictures namin sa house kumpleto pa eh.”

Prior to Kris' revelation, the SNN staff cornered Shaina on the set of Sunday variety show, “ASAP.” She pleaded with them then to refrain from asking about her breakup with John.

“Kayo talaga. Kayo naman,” she was caught muttering on cam.

Asked if she's happy, the actress managed to blurt a few lines.

“Yeah, I'm happy kasi kung hindi ka nga magiging masaya sa pagpasok ng taon, baka gusto mo maging malungkot naman,” Shaina said.

Prodded to talk about the lessons she learned from the split, Shaina parried with, “Grabe. Kayo talaga."

She came up with an answer a few minutes later.

"I think pagiging positive sa lahat ng bagay. Respect and love and friendship will always be there.”
