Star Magic artists make a big bang in 2010!
As Star Magic, the country’s premiere star maker, ushers in 2010, it gives more revelations among its roster of stars. Star Magic stars Piolo Pascual, Kristine Hermosa, Diether Ocampo, Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz are set to make a big bang this year.
Piolo Pascual ended 2009 grandly with the success of “Lovers in Paris” plus his recently “Decades” album that has reached the top in the billboard chart after its launch. This Cinema One legend and one of the country’s sexiest men is obviously raring to start the year right with a series of shows here and abroad. He is set to perform for the “Heartthrob Tour” with Sam Milby, John Lloyd Cruz and Pokwang. He will also be busy campaigning for Hebreo Foundation which he put up with his siblings. Piolo will also be back with a new soap soon but to start the year, he is shooting for two episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” where he plays Ninoy Aquino. Another sure hit movie of Piolo with Zaijan Jaranilla under Star Cinema is underway. Piolo plans to produce more films after the success of “Manila” and “Kimmydora.” Star Magic’s main man also continues to be one of the country’s leading endorsers. He’s still the face for Max’s, Sky Travel Luggage, Smart Telecommunications, Bench Apparel and Cologne, Centrum, Century Properties, Banco de Oro, Speed and Belo Medical Clinic.
Kristine Hermosa, on the other hand, remains to be a teleserye queen in her own right with the top-rating show “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.” She is happy with the results of her latest TV show and she hopes to do more teleseryes this year. A sitcom and a movie are lined up for this beautiful and talented young actress. Kristine also continues her campaign for Chicnails, DEI Direct Selling, CNX Cosmetics, Maxipeel, Cinderella and Aeskultura.
Diether Ocampo landed as the third Filipino cover in the issue of Readers Digest Asia last December. His deeds in helping out kids through his KIDS Foundation was featured in the magazine which he considers his second recognition to date. Diether was chosen by Harvard University to become one of the participants in the school’s On-Campus Conference Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations. Apart from focusing on humanitarian projects, Diether is set to do a teleserye with Angelica Panganiban via “Rubi.” He too remains with his Bench, Bench Fix, Malayan Insurance and Pizza Hut families. He will also be seen in new campaigns around the metro soon.
Angelica Panganiban is on cloud nine these days after the success of her movie “I Love You, Goodbye.” She is now raring to work on the remake of a Mexican telenovela entitled “Rubi (Ang Bidang Kontrabida)” where she will be playing an interesting character with Shaina Magdayao, Jake Cuenca and Diether Ocampo. She will however continue to ooze with sexiness and show her funny side on ABS-CBN’s comedy show “Banana Split.” This Star Awards nominee for Best Drama Actress and for Best Comedienne will be busy doing shows abroad this year. Angelica remains the endorser of Mario D’ Boro Shoes, The Bar, Swatch, Globe TM, Amira Whitening Cream, Bench Body, Freshlook, Zen Institute, Chikka.com and ABS-CBN Interactive.
Sam Milby is excited for the year ahead. 2009 was another milestone in his career both as an actor and singer. As a singer, he launched a Star Records collaboration album with Toni Gonzaga. After he has proven himself as a dramatic actor with substance in “And I Love You So” and showed his funny side in “Ang Tanging Pamilya,” Sam is doing a Star Cinema movie with Anne Curtis that will hopefully be released in April. His recent TV guesting in “May Bukas Pa,” as a disabled businessman, earned high ratings on primetime. After “Only You,” Sam is about to be seen with a new leading lady in Precious Romance Presents “Impostor.” He will be Maja Salvador’s on-screen partner in the series. The Fil-American is also very happy to be the first male celebrity endorser of Folded and Hung. His billboard is now seen over the metro and more of his latest pictorials for the brand will be featured this year. He does not forget his endorsing duties for Smart Telecommunications, i2i eyewear, Unisilver watches, Dermablend Orange Papaya and KDDI Japan Call Cards.
Bea Alonzo has proven herself as mature young actress after her most acclaimed performance as a widow in her launching movie “And I Love You So.”
An exciting Star Cinema movie is in the works where she will be reunited with John Lloyd Cruz. This cover girl continues her duties as endorser of Kashieca, 4G food supplements, Clear shampoo and Belo Essentials.
John Lloyd Cruz has added more feathers on his cap as he remains the Box-Office King. After Star Cinema’s “A Very Special Love,” his follow-up movie – “A Very Special Love” with Sarah Geronimo – also made it as a blockbuster film. A bigger and bolder John Lloyd was seen in “In My Life” as he tackled a gay role with Star for All Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos. Two projects under his home studio are lined up for him- a comeback movie with Bea Alonzo and a teleserye with Angel Locsin. Regularly seen in “ASAP” with the Kanto Boys, John Lloyd will be performing with his all-boys group in Waterfront Cebu. He will also be joining the rest of Star Magic artists in March for the “Heartthrob Tour.” John Lloyd remains the endorser for Lucky Men, Biogesic, Swatch, Natasha, Purefoods Hotdogs, Cherry Mobile, Choco Lava, Lucky Me, Urban Bags, Smart and Greenwich.
Surely, the magic continues as the year of the tiger looks more promising for Star Magic and its homegrown talents for they will make headlines this year!
