Noel Cabangon pens climate change anthem

Acoustic act and celebrity activist Noel Cabangon contributes his songwriting prowess to the call for action on the issue of climate change. The song “No Time To Waste” became the anthemic number for the 12-hour concert “Tiktokrok: Rock for Climate Action” last month initiated by some artists’ “solidarity on the global movement for climate action.”
The said song was recorded by 52 artists who are advocates for climate care. While there are less-known acts in the list, numerous big-name musicians participated in the venture, with the likes of Rico Blanco, Gloc 9, Cynthia Alexander, Armi Millare (vocalist of Up Dharma Down), and Cooky Chua (lead singer of Color It Red) joining the project.
“Climate change is happening around the world and no one is spared from its cruel impact. Act now while we still have enough time to avert another catastrophy,” Cabangon said.
The song’s music video, directed by the award-winning R.A. Rivera, showed images of the artists involved. Both the song and the video were produced by the NGO Dakila dubbed as the “Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism.”
The official list who signed as artists advocates for climate issues also include non-musicians who are famous in the field of acting and movies. Some of them were actress Alessandra de Rossi, TV host Bianca Gonzales, actor Diether Ocampo, filmmaker Jim Libiran, beauty queen Miriam Quiambao, TV personality Ramon Bautista, comedian Tado, and actor Ronnie Lazaro. These climate activists asked for leaders to make significant political decisions like the reduction of carbon emissions by at least 40% by year 2020.
