Fourteen grade school pupils allegedly suffered food poisoning after consuming milk powder bought from their teacher in Quezon City Monday afternoon.

Barangay investigator Arman Daviduya said the victims of food poisoning were all grade four students of the Commonwealth Elementary School Annex on Katuparan St., Barangay Commonwealth.

Daviduya said that the 14 pupils all complained of stomach pains and nausea after consuming milk powder contained in sachets.

The pupils were all rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) at past 4 p.m. Monday for treatment.

The investigator said that the pupils were initially brought to the barangay hall by their own teacher Izsa Carillo.

It was also Carillo who sold the snack food to the children but the teacher had only bought it from the nearby N. Palentino’s sari-sari store located also on Katuparan St. owned by Nida Palentino, 56.

For her part, Palentino said that she bought the food products from Divisoria.

Daviduya said the milk product produced in Navotas had a 2011 expiration date.

The investigator said that products were then confiscated from the teacher and the store.
