The Department of Education (DepEd) is investigating the reported food poisoning of some pupils in a Quezon City elementary school.

DepEd-National Capital Region director Teresita Domalanta said that she has already dispatched an investigating team from their health unit to the Commonwealth Elementary School Annex after 14 students complained of stomach ache and vomited after drinking milk that was sold by one of the school’s teachers.

“I have already instructed our health unit to look into the incident and coordinate with the local health office to ensure that we get into the bottom of this,” Domalanta said. She said that the pupils were already out of danger.

The victims were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment and were subsequently released after being administered first aid.

An anonymous donor, Domalanta said, paid for the hospital expenses.
