CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Five persons were injured in a collision between a tricycle and a car on the national highway in Barangay Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union on Friday, September 8.
Police identified the injured as Arthur Labsan, 55, tricycle driver and a resident of Barangay Ili Sur, San Juan, La Union, and his three passengers, Darryl Melver Ventura, 33; Jaevryll, 10, Grade 5 pupil; and Daevryll Xzavier, 9, Grade 4 pupil, all residents of Barangay Ili Norte, San Juan, La Union, and the driver of the car, John Paul Arista, 29, of Barangay Orence, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.
Arista’s passengers, Glaiza Montero, 36; Vanessa Garilao, 36, and two minors, all residents of Barangay Orence, Narvacan, were unhurt.
Investigation said the northbound car suddenly encroached on the lane of the southbound tricycle.
Due to the impact of the collision, the tricycle was dragged to the northbound lane, stumbled on the road, and then turned upside down.
The injured were taken to the hospital.
Police said that a follow-up investigation on the accident is ongoing.
