Parañaque City has registered a low crime rate in 2009 compared two years ago which was brought by the city’s crime prevention program and enhanced crime-fighting capabilities, Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. said Tuesday.
Records showed the city has registered a low 9.64 percent crime rate last year compared to 10.19 percent in 2008.
Bernabe said the latest figures showed the gains made by the local police in the fight against crime.
“We aim to create an environment where people are confident that they will be protected against criminal elements,” Bernabe said.
The mayor said he will continue to implement programs and projects that are designed to continuously improve the peace and order situation in the city.
