Thirty people aboard a motor launch were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Friday night after the boat encountered a mechanical problem and drifted off the West Philippine Sea.
According to the coast guard, they received a distress call at around 7pm requesting for the immediate rescue of 30 passengers onboard a motor launch that drifted off the coast of Sicud, Jose P Rizal town, Palawan.
The boat reportedly departed Puerto Princesa City and was en route to Pag-asa Island.
Authorities said that no one was harmed in the incident and a thorough investigation is ongoing.
