The second leg of the 2010 National Motocross Series will be held next Sunday at the Speedworld Circuit in SM City Bicutan.

After a well-attended opening leg which drew 150 entries in 14 competition classes, interest and rider attendance is expected to further snowball in the coming rounds with the big shot in the arm that NAMSSA received from the pledge of support from its new Race Chairman, Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile.

“On behalf of the whole NAMSSA family, riders, managers, sponsors, marshalls, mechanics and all, I thank the Hon. Representative Enrile for always being there for NAMSSA,” eewly elected UAM President Stephan Carapiet said.

“His recent pledge of support will definitely be a big boost to our mission of developing motorcycle sports in the country.”

Round 2 will also serve as the final tune-up leg for local riders who will be participating in the 2010 Mayor Edward Hagedorn Cup, the opening round of the 2010 FIM Asian Motocross Series which takes off in Puerto Princesa City on February 21.

The Mayor Hagedorn Cup, sponsored by the City Government of Puerto Princesa, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and the Department of Tourism (DoT), brings in close to 50,000 spectators to the venue.

The annual meet pits champion riders from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, China, Mongolia, Guam, Saipan, UAE, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines and is telecast to over 490 million viewers worldwide by the ESPN-Star Cable TV Networks.
