The Quezon City government is set to build a modern and computerized central stock warehouse for the storage of construction materials, electrical supplies, and other essential equipment used by the city.

Mayor Feliciano Belmonte approved the recommendation of Rolando Montiel chief of the city’s General Service Office (GSO) in a bid to further enhance its development projects while enjoying huge price cuts and boosting the locality’s status as the country’s richest local government units (LGU).

Montiel said Quezon City should have a modern central stock warehouse similar to that in Valenzuela City and Marikina City where bulk procurements also facilitate the implementation of government projects.

In some unforeseen instances, the completion of government projects is delayed with the sudden skyrocketing prices of materials, equipment and supplies while cases of lack of supply of key essentials are also blamed for unfinished undertakings.
