35 drug suspects nabbed, P3 M worth of shabu seized in two-day police operation in Cebu City
CEBU CITY -- At least P3 million worth of illegal drugs was seized in a series of police operations dubbed as Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation here.
Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said that from June 9-10, a total of 33 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted that led to the confiscation of shabu worth P3.3 million and the arrest of 35 drug personalities.
Dalogdog said four of the arrested suspects were listed as high-value individuals.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 51 persons were arrested for various offenses such as engaging in ‘swertres (illegal numbers game),’ ‘hantak (coin game),’ and ‘tigbakay (illegal cockfight).’
Dalogdog added that 17 wanted persons were arrested during the two-day operation.
Seven persons were arrested while seven unlicensed guns were seized in the campaign against loose firearms, added Dalogdog.
Dalogdog said there will be no let-up in CCPO’s efforts to curb all forms of illegal activities in the city.
“The CCPO will continue to intensify its anti-criminality campaign so that we can further bring down the crime volume in the city,” Dalogdog said.
