The country will remain tropical cyclone-free in the next two to three days as there is no impending low-pressure area (LPA) or tropical cyclone that may form or affect the country, a weather forecaster said Saturday.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Ariel Rojas said so far there are no cloud formations surrounding the country's area of responsibility.
"At present, we have not monitored an LPA or weather disturbance that could possibly form or affect the country in the next two to three days," Rojas said.
As of Saturday, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" affects the extreme Northern Luzon while the warm and humid easterly winds prevail over the rest of the country.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light monsoon rains in the next 24 hours.
However, PAGASA said the monsoon rains will have no significant impact over the extreme Northern Luzon area.
The easterlies may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The State weather bureau has not issued a gale warning as sea conditions over extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough while it will be slight to moderate over the rest of the country
Seafarers and fisherfolk are safe to sail but are still advised to observe caution when venturing out to sea.
