Security guard shot dead by STL agent in Batangas

PADRE GARCIA, Batangas – A 32-year-old security guard was allegedly gunned down by a Small Town Lottery (STL) agent on Wednesday afternoon, June 14, in Barangay Banay-Banay, here. Police identified the victim as Berinie Dimaculangan. Initial investigation said the victim was shot by the suspect, Victorino Dimaculangan, 42, when they crossed paths at around 5 p.m. Berinie sustained a bullet wound in the chest and died on the spot while the suspect was promptly arrested by the police. Confiscated from the suspect were a caliber .45 pistol, an empty magazine for caliber .45, live bullets, and inside holster. Police have yet to determine the reason for the shooting. A criminal complaint is being prepared for filing before the prosecutor's office. The suspect and the victim have the same surname but police did not mention the relationship between the two.
