Mercado says he’ll vote for Binay in veep race
Friendship between Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay and his Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado goes beyond political aspiration and affiliation as the latter Monday admitted that he will vote for his boss in the vice presidential race despite going head on with Binay's son in the mayoral race.
Mercado, who bolted out of Binay's party last November to go head on with Binay's son, Makati City Councilor Jejomar Erwin "Jun-Jun" Binay in the city's mayoral derby as the Nacionalista Party bet, said he believes that the Makati City Mayor has the capability and the leadership to hold the second highest position in the country.
But despite his admiration for the mayor, Mercado somehow noted that Binay, like any human being, has flaws especially when the latter decided to support his son to run against him in the mayoral race.
