Sentimental balladeer Myrus holds pre-Valentine shows in Cebu
Myrus, the Sentimental Prince of original Pilipino music, will serenade his Cebuano followers with his own interpretation of love songs that captivated our hearts in two pre-Valentine shows this week in Cebu City.
Known for his radio monster hit revival of Claire dela Fuente’s jukebox song “Sayang,” Myrus will be performing at SM Cebu on Feb. 11 at exactly 4 p.m. to further promote his certified gold record album titled “Love Cycle Repackaged” under Sony Music Entertainment Philippines.
On Feb. 12, the balladeer will treat the student and faculty members of St. Theresa’s College in Cebu with his tender, soothing voice in a campus Valentine show.
“I am excited to once again share my brand of music to the very discerning Cebuano audience,” says Myrus who last performed in Cebu in late 2009 in a concert topbilled by international Filipino artist Billy Crawford.
Myrus is acknowledged as one of the most talented performers of his generation. He was named as ASEA’s Most Promising Young R&B Artist in 2008 and was nominated as Best Solo R&B Artist for his debut single “Laging Ikaw” in the First Philippine Radio Music Awards.
First solo concert with Regine Velasquez, Juris
Come Feb. 27, another dream of the exceptionally talented recording artist comes true – his first solo concert to be held at the Teatrino in Promenade Mall, Greenhills Shopping Complex with no less than Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and former MYMP vocalist Juris Fernandez as guest artists.
Presented by White Flower Embrocation, the upcoming concert titled “Myrus: The Sentimental Prince (A Tribute to Sentimental Original Pilipino Music)” will be the balladeer’s way to paying tribute to the rich trove of OPM songs, which have served as inspirations for young Filipino artists like him.
“I never thought that I would have the chance to share the stage with the great Regine Velasquez at this phase of my career. I thank her and her manager Ate Cacai Mitra so much for their valuable support,” relates Myrus. It was said that the music icon even moved a scheduled trip to Singapore just be in the concert.
Myrus is managed by Chris Cahilig Consultancy. “Myrus: The Sentimental Prince” is supported by White Flower Embrocation, Mercury Drug Store, the Mendez Medical Group, online game HighStreet5, Binalot, The Journal Group, and Dental First. Manila Bulletin is his official media partner.
