Epson addresses market need for large format printers

Seeing the huge potential for large format printers in the Philippine market, specifically in the retail, advertising and architectural industries as well as in education, Epson recently launched two high-speed large format printers -- Epson Stylus Pro 7700 (24 inches) and Epson Stylus Pro 9700 (44 inches). “These new large format printers are designed to assist architects, engineers, construction companies, spatial data analysts and retailers to expand their businesses,” explained Epson Philippines Corporation Senior General Manager and Division Head for Sales and Marketing Ed Bonoan.
“They provide accurate reproduction of architectural drawings and color presentations, engineering plans, spatial data maps, attention-grabbing point-of-sale displays and posters as well as course materials for universities.”
Both models provide high print quality, high productivity and are easy to operate. They can automatically switch between photo and matte black inks depending on the media selected, improving productivity when a variety of different papers are used.
With five individual high capacity ink cartridges available in 350 or 700 ml capacities and automatic switching between photo and matte black inks, the Epson Stylus Pro 7700 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9700 offer longer unattended print runs and lower operating costs.
Epson Ultrachrome Vivid Magenta Ink produces industry-leading color with true archival capability, raising the level of photographic print quality while setting a new benchmark standard for line-art precision reproduction and color accuracy.
Whether producing high-resolution architectural plans, highly precise engineering drawings, extremely photographic GIS mapping output or brilliant display signage, professionals can print their vision without compromise.
Furthermore, both models reduce overall running cost inasmuch as they use only four inks at any given time while maintaining quality for professional in-house printing of posters, banners and flyers.
The printers also come with a color LCD panel for easier selection of commands, more convenient paper handling, with no need for spindles to hold rolls and the ability to switch easily from normal tension to high tension when using thinner media. The new layout manager software maximizes paper use with nesting capabilities and layout tools for a range of large format printing applications.
To ensure easy integration into existing workflows, both printers come standard with USB2.0 and Ethernet connections. They are also supported with Windows, Macintosh and HDI drivers.
