Second girl reports foiled kidnap in Quezon City
Another schoolgirl was almost kidnapped earlier this week in Quezon City by suspects aboard a white van but was saved by bystanders who saw the attempted snatching.
Apart from the foiled kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl last Tuesday in Barangay Batasan Hills, Supt. Crisostomo Mendoza, commander of Station 6 of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), learned that another girl was almost snatched in the same barangay a few days earlier.
Mendoza found out from the Barangay Hall of Batasan Hills that a 14-year-old schoolgirl had reported that she was almost kidnapped last February.
The girl told police that the attempted kidnapping took place at around 8:45 p.m. Sunday along San Mateo Road.
She said she was on her way home at Alton St. at that time when, before reaching her street, a white van without plate number stopped beside her.
After the side door of the van opened, a man from inside the vehicle tried to grab her. She noted that there were three men inside the vehicle including the driver.
Fortunately, bystanders in the area saw the commotion and ran to the aid of the girl who managed to escape. After the girl got away, the van immediately sped off.
In the meantime, Mendoza assured that they are investigating the incident.
Just last Wednesday night, an 11-year-old grade school pupil reported to Station 6 that she was almost kidnapped Tuesday noon in Barangay Batasan Hills by persons using also a white van.
The girl said the attempted kidnapping incident took place at around noon Tuesday along Talanay St. near the Saint Anthony School in Batasan Hills.
The girl said that she was on her way home from school when a white van stopped beside her.
