UST's public affairs director passes away

The director of the Public Affairs Office of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) has passed away.

In a Facebook post, UST said Assoc. Prof. Giovanna Villarama-Fontanilla has been the university's "face and voice to the general public" and was one of its "best ambassadors."

"We join her family in these trying times and express our unending gratitude to her for her selfless service to the Thomasian family," UST wrote.

Fontanilla served UST for 41 years, teaching English and speech.

She was also one of the pioneers of the UST Educational Technology Center where she served as a consultant from 1994 until 1999.
