Alien sighting in the city

An alien invaded the La Salle Green Hills Grand Alumni Homecoming recently at the school’s Mandaluyong campus.
The Silver Jubilarians from the class of 1985, along with other alumni from the various batches that graduated from LSGH for the past 50 years, watched in awe as the chamelion-like creature changed its color from an untenable blue to the adrenaline-rushing green.
The creature is an Alienware, arguably the fastest (gaming) computer in the market today.
Those who got their hands on the 17-inch Quicksilver M17x and the 15-inch Defiant M15x both on display at the specially-designed Alienware gaming booth were not disappointed as the laptop, powered by Intel’s latest in mobile processor technology, blazed its way through the graphics-heavy games.
The Defiant M15x uses the i7 processor employing Intel’s latest 64-bit Nehalem microarchitecture. Whatever that is, it simply meant the laptop can power through games while running other multimedia applications at the same time.
Meanwhile, its larger sibling, the Quicksilver M17x uses the fastest Quad-core Extreme mobile processor, combining brains with brawn to give you the ultimate Hi-def mobile gaming and entertainment powerhouse.
For those who care to travel down history lane, the batch of 1985 grew up in the Marcos era, beginning their high school years in 1981, the same year that he banned video games because of parent and teacher complaints regarding youth morality. This move deprived a lot of these Silver Jubilarians a significant aspect of their adolescent life.
Fastrack to 2010, these boys are now well into their 40s and comfortably ensconced in their management positions or in their own businesses.
Notwithstanding graying hair, their bulging pockets can now afford them to indulge in some toys for the big boys as a way of making up for that lost era, when Space Invaders and Galaxian ruled.
The homecoming, dubbed “Ginto Na Ang Berde,” was attended by over 2,000 alumni, and the color-shifting “aliens” Quicksilver M17x and Defiant M15x.
Luckily, these Alienwares are “human-user-friendly.” The best “war of the world” is played here.
For those who had a quick skirmish with the green alien that night and looking to further the challenge, Alienware is available from homecoming sponsor Ynzal Corp. Visit their galaxy at www.ynzal.com.
