Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim Friday challenged his detractors, who have been allegedly belittling his accomplishments, to surpass his feat by showing to Manilans what they have done, if any, during a forum at the Philippine Normal University (PNU).

Lim lashed at his rivals and at the same time presented his achievements before PNU students in the past three years as Manila Mayor.

"They are just jealous that they have not thought of building hospitals for Manileños. They have even been preoccupied with sabotaging my administration by driving away sick patients and telling them that there are no doctors or medicines available," he told reporters in chance interview.

“Of course those who come in the hospital are the delirious, the sick and when you ask them who told them about such lies they will not even remember who those persons are," he added.

He claimed that the past administration before him, who allegedly used influence to sabotage his administration, told poor patients to go to another hospital since there were no medicines or doctors available.

These, Lim said, are untrue since at the city-run hospitals, he allotted P150,000 standby fund each, except for the Ospital ng Maynila where the allocation is P200,000, for buying medicines and covering expenses for cases where an operation may be required.

He also took the opportunity to announce that another city hospital is slated to open in the city’s sixth distict of Sta. Ana next month following the recent opening of the Justice Abad Santos Hospital in the third district of Binondo.

This, he said, completes his vision of having one hospital providing free medicines and treatments for the poor residents for each of the six districts of Manila. In his first year in office, Lim established the Gat Andres Bonifacio (first district); Ospital ng Tondo (2nd district) and the Ospital ng Sampaloc (4th district) while he ordered the rehabilitation of the then lone existing city hospital, the Ospital ng Maynila (5th district).
