10 Chinese nationals, Filipino arrested for human trafficking in Parañaque City

Ten Chinese nationals and their Filipino cohort were arrested for human trafficking and illegal possession of firearms on Saturday, Sept. 16, in Parañaque City.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), members of the District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) conducted a rescue operation to retrieve seven victims detained at Unit 1811 on the 18th Floor of SoleMare Park suites in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City at around 5:30 p.m.

The SPD said the arrested suspects were identified as Lin Shengjie ("Boss Lin or Lin Wei"), 32; Weichao, 30; Liulizhang; Honghualiang; Luyzhenggang; Zhangmingpeng, 25;  Pengke, 27; Dengchaofan, 30; Cai deqiang, 34; Chujunyi, 42; and their Filipino cohort, Arlene Lapurga Geron, 48.

The SPD said the other Chinese man identified as Xiao Ji, alias  "Boss Kee," is at large.

The DSOU conducted a raid after Executive Judge Jaime Guray of the Parañaque Regional Trial Court (RTC) issued a search warrant for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Police said seven victims of alleged human trafficking were rescued during the operation.

During the operation, police confiscated one shooter dessert storm .45-caliber pistol with one magazine with five live ammunition; one low carry pistol belt color desert cammo; one Rock Island Armory .45-caliber pistol wit three magazines, 16 live ammunition; one black rifle bag, two M16 rifle black magazines, and 50 M16 live ammunition.

The police also recovered two white digital counting machines, two gray MacBooks, a black envelope, a black bag with foreign markings containing different sex paraphernalia, a box with 13 bracelets, three black radios, a charger, 4,600 pieces of genuine P1,000 bill amounting to P4,600,000.00, 20 Philippine peso bills in different denominations, 270 different foreign currencies, and a purple iPhone 14 ProMax.

The arrested suspects were immediately brought to the DSOU office after their arrest. 

Lin Shengjie and Xiao Ji will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 and RA 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking In Persons Act of 2003.

The other suspects who were arrested during the operation will face human trafficking charges.
