Ballsy Aquino-Cruz is beaming with pride with the release of these limited-edition Swatch watches that are dedicated to her parents.

Less than a year since former President Corazon Aquino passed away, the Cory fever is very much alive with Ninoy and Cory yellow shirts being sold and worn about town.  Even yellow banners bidding the late president goodbye are still on the streets, with canary-colored ribbons tied on cars and gates as well.

Swatch—together with Jaime Zobel, ABS-CBN Licensing and the Benigno S. Aquino Foundation—celebrated Mrs. Aquino’s 77th birthday with a very limited edition watch. Jaime Zobel is a close friend of the Aquinos and he designed this special watch, which is packaged with a book on the former president.

With only 801 pieces of this set available, it was expected that the timepieces got sold out pretty fast. We could only guess that almost a third (if not half) of it was bought during the launch, with over 300 Cory supporters and friends present. Celebrities include director of the night Rowell Santiago and singer Lea Salonga and host Martin Nievera, who all made the night a very heartwarming event.
