‘Forbidden Questions’ returns!

If you’ve been tuned in to the Magic the past few weeks, it would be apparent that the radio-waves are now abuzz with anything and everything having to deal with the imminent elections. While pop radio doesn’t usually get too heavy or heated with political discussions, bright politicos have recognized the public’s love of “info-tainment” (a clever mix of information and entertainment); using radio not only to share their platforms with their constituents but to allow listeners get to know them better in an intimately candid way.
A Perfect Score!
The radio as well as the Internet has been going crazy with the twisted sensation that is Mo Twister. For those that missed Good Times with Mo, Mojo & Grace Lee last week, you missed out on the famed return of DJ Mo’s dreaded game – “Forbidden Questions!”
Stepping to the microphone was political hopeful Adel Tamano who is also stepping up his senatorial bid this May. “Bring it on” were the words of Tamano as he goaded the DJs to throw their worst at him. While the first few questions on the roster were a piece of cake, Adel soon felt the heat as the queries dug deeper into the realm of the forbidden as they probed into topics like his sex-life, political rivalries and critiques as well as Adel’s plans for 2010 and beyond.
Tamano amazingly scored a perfect score of “40” by answering each and every question of Mo Twister and completing a special dare of kissing one of the DJs. For the complete recording of the controversial radio episode, log on to DJ Mo’s personal blog at www.motwister.com!
While on the topic of blogs… Recently, Quezon City mayoral hopeful Mike Defensor dropped by the Magic 89.9 studios and spent an evening hanging with the boys of “Boys Night Out” – DJs Tony Toni, Slick Rick & Sam YG. It was a live guesting filled with loads of laughs and positive plans for QC as Mike Defensor cracked jokes alongside the radio jocks as well as answering questions from listeners that called into the show. The microphones were hot and alive with discussions concerning anything and everything QC, preempting Defensor’s innovative initiative to reach out to his constituents not only through broadcast media, but through the World Wide Web.
Power of the Blogosphere
On the heels of this fun and insightful radio stint, Mike Defensor initiated an innovative repartee with some of the Philippines’ top bloggers. Concerned netizens by the likes of Noemi Dado, Mila Aguilar, Carlo Ople, Patricio Mangubat, Paul Farol, MisterVader, Chronicles of E and a whole lot more gathered in the Defensor home for an intimate forum or “Open Mike” night (pun intended) which was broadcast on the Internet.
Blogger Amiel Cabanlig (of www.donavictorina.com) said, “It has been a vinegary turnaround of public perception for Mike since he allied with the administration. People need to look remember what Mike can do and has done - All of his close-to-impossible feats in government like the NAIA opening or the activation of the PNR. I firmly believe Defensor is the man for the job in Quezon City vis-à-vis comedian Bistek. Defensor is a man with a vision and someone who knows how to get things done.”
“Poverty should not be hindrance to our youth who possess the intelligence and skills to finish their formal education.” said Defensor during the bloggers’ forum. “I believe now is the time to return the budget to the people of the city to let our citizens, rich and poor alike, to feel and see the true growth and development of the city and its people.”
