DOJ to NBI on 'sexy dancer:' 'Review protocols, reinforce professionalism'
There is a need for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to review its protocols and reinforce professionalism, Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic F. Clavano IV said on Friday, July 7.
Clavano issued the statement in reaction to the performance of a “sexy dancer” during the NBI’s command conference held at a hotel in Manila.
“The NBI leadership should take this an opportunity to review their protocols and to reinforce professionalism and ensure that such incidents don’t undermine the integrity and the good reputation of the organization as the premier investigating arm,” he said during an interview at CNN Philippines.
He said “the organizing committee may have lacked the awareness or sensitivity about the appropriate entertainment choices for a command conference.”
He also said that Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla has ordered an investigation “to identify the responsible parties and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.”
He pointed out that “there’s really no justification or explanation to excuse the inclusion of such a performance.”
