Sarah Geronimo wins big at the 2010 MYX Music Awards
Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo was the biggest winner at the 2010 MYX Music Awards held at Music Museum on March 2.

The rest of the major awards were evenly distributed. Spongecola bested Hale, Pedicab and 6cyclemind for the Favorite Group honors. 6cyclemind evened the score by hauling the Favorite Music Video award for the Treb Monteras directed video “Kasalanan Ba,” which features the lovely Maricar Reyes.
Gloc 9 took home the Favorite Urban Video trophy for his song “Upuan,” while Young JV took home the Favorite New Artist plum. Rockers Chicosci won in the Favorite Rock Video category for “Diamond Shotgun.”
Master rapper Francis Magalona got a posthumous nod for his work with friend Ely Buendia titled “Higante.” The song merited the Favorite Collaboration plum, edging out the pairings of Gloc 9-Gabby Alipe of Urbandub, Paraluman and Kean Cipriano.
Former MYX VJ Heart Evangelista won for Favorite Guest Appearance in a Music Video in Hale’s “Bahay Kubo.” Billy Crawford was named Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ.
Jose Mari Chan’s son received on his father’s behalf, the 2010’s Myx Magna Awardee for his musical excellence and contribution to OPM. The first diamond selling artist (for album sales of more than 500,000 units) was honored by the performance of his best known hits by Jay-R, Richard Poon, Yeng Constantino, Rachel Ann Go, Kean Cipriano, Jason Fernandez of Rivermaya and Christian Bautista who sang Chan’s hits “Tell Me Your Name,” “Stop And Talk Awhile,” “Beautiful Girl” and “Constant Change.”
The 2010 MYX Music Awards boasted of fine performances from the likes of hiphop group Philippine All Stars who performed their single, “Mainit.” Urbandub---along with Aia De Leon of Imago (who sported a new look), Paulo Valenciano of Salamin, and Kat Alano of Sinosikat?--- essayed their biggest songs in line with their 10th year in the industry.
The night’s best performance belonged to Hilera, with a punk-perfect performance of their song “Radical.” Its clanging guitars and throbbing backbeat sequed into Rico Blanco’s “Ayuz.” Hilera proved perfect for the Green day-esque stomp of “Ayuz” as Rico Blanco, amidst a bevy of dancers, gave one spirited performance. Blanco brought the house down with a surprise dance solo, pulling out his natty dance moves, pop and lock routine.
