Stars run for health at the Run of the Century
From the pigeonhole:
Stars kicked off a healthy 2010 as they joined thousands of health and fitness buffs at the Century Tuna Superbods Run 2010, the year’s biggest and most star-studded celebration of health and fitness held recently at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
The “run of the century” drew over 11,000 health and fitness enthusiasts to get into a healthy lifestyle through running. Runners and spectators who witnessed the race attest it was a running event like no other.
Market leader Century Tuna pulled out all the stops to mount biggest gathering of celebs, runners and health buffs. An entire vacant block within the upscale Bonifacio Global City was transformed into a vibrant, bustling hub that celebrated health and fitness with its many booths and activities – from yoga and capoeira sessions, roller races and photo booths, to a bustling Century Tuna Supermart, and sampling stations that provided tasty treats to all the guests.
The paparazzi had a blast that day as business tycoons, media moguls, showbiz stars and local sports celebrities were captured racing with runners and health buffs to the finish line. Leading the pack was Century Corned Tuna endorser Derek Ramsay, who was joined by former Century Tuna Superbods winners Jon Avila, Ram Sagad, Patty Ortega, Van Victor Leaño and Theresa Fenger.
Also joining runners to achieve that fit and healthy body and healthy mind were former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Maricar Reyes, Rafael Rosell, Victor Basa, Marc Nelson, Dyan Castillejo, Isabelle Daza, Georgina Wilson, Daniel Matsunaga, and Leo Valdez.
These stars, as well as the runners who participated in the races attest to the special care Century Tuna provided them. Numerous water stations manned by gorgeous models were all over the race tracks to ensure runners were properly hydrated and motivated. After the run, participants were given food packs containing a mini-buffet of tuna salad, nutritious tuna sandwiches and fruits so they can recover their strength after the exhilarating race. Throughout the event, there were paramedics and ambulances on stand by to make sure any emergency was immediately addressed.
Said Century Pacific Group General Manager Gold Tantoco, it was the company’s way of thanking its loyal consumers for making them No. 1 through the years. “Our consumers helped us become a market leader. And as a market leader, we want them to feel they are important to us. This is the reason we left no stone unturned in ensuring the Run would be an enjoyable unforgettable, world-class experience for all of them.”
But beyond the glitz and the glamorous festivities, the Superbods Run was also a fundraising event, where proceeds of a raffle-for-a-cause were donated to the UNICEF and the WWF.
Indeed only a market leader can pull of such an outstanding feat. Having pioneered the local tuna market 25 years ago, Century Tuna built the industry and through the years, as it consistently sought to provide Filipino consumers with exciting range of choices that has now grown to over 30 tuna variants.
Century Tuna’s commitment to health and fitness has inspired it to come up with the much-awaited yearly Superbods event. Tantoco added that this year’s event was even more meaningful because “we’ve inspired more people to be fit and active; more people realized they can get started on a healthy lifestyle, regardless of the season or setting. It’s our way to keeping them inspired and motivated to stay fit and healthy.”
Besides joining the exhilarating race events, hundreds of race finishers took their chance to join the go-see for a chance to become the next Century Tuna image models. Male and female runners lined up, walked up the stage to show off their healthy bodies, hoping to bring home a modeling contract and P100,000 cash prize from Century.
Truly, the Superbods was a glamorous, world-class event that celebrated health and fitness for celebrities and health buffs alike, inspiring thousands of individuals to look good and feel better by taking on a lifestyle of health and fitness.

Hot moms endorsers
Being a single mom is often very difficult to cope with. Especially when she is not married at all, or she was suddenly left alone by her live-in lover! It is quite a scandal! And the victim often becomes a recluse as she sheds her tears profusely! It is like the end of the world, or as if the walls of her room are closing in towards herself! And how about her baby crying, perhaps longing for the warmth embrace of a father?
Some abandoned single moms deteriorate as they could not face society, especially so when they were well-known personalities!
Other single moms would bent their anger on their children, which makes life even more difficult for them.
But there are also single moms who simply wanted to have children, or at least one child. They do not get married, but mysteriously or not, they become pregnant and then give birth to a boy or girl! That’s all about it. The man who sired the child is also a mystery, an unknown face in society, as if it is part of the contract of siring the child! For these single moms, they do not consider their situations as shameful, nor a scandal in society. It is a normal way of life!
When Jennylyn Mercado gave birth to her now one-year-old son Alex Jazz sired by an actor, the event was very much the content of practically all newspapers in the country. For a while, Jennylyn avoided society, and it took sometime before she came out to perform in her own musical concert. She also refused to be interviewed or talk about the man who sired her son. It must have been emotionally painful for her!
Now she is out in the open, very proud of her son.
“He is now the focus of my attention,” she gleefully said. “I live for him!” she stressed. “Of course, my other concentration is on my career,” Jennylyn added.
How about falling in love again? “That is a big, big no! There is no space yet in my heart for a serious commitment, nor do I have to repeat my error.” Jennylyn would not even mention the name of the man who abandoned her once he learned that she was pregnant with his child.
Jennylyn appears to be very strong now – emotionally, in body and in mind!
“Foremost,” she said, “I must not forget the necessary attention and care for my body,” she stressed. That’s why she remains as even more sexier than before she gave birth to Alex Jazz.
The same kind of strength is also possessed by Valerie Concepcion, a single mom with her four-year-old Fiona.
“It’s all about my daughter now and my career,” Valerie also stressed. “I am very, very serious with my life, and though I may still date, that’s all to it!” Indeed, Valerie has also become even more confident with herself!
And what do Jennylyn Mercado and Valerie Concepcion have in common besides their sexy curves and beautiful faces?
For one, they both entered showbiz in their teens – Jen as the first winner of the reality star search, “StarStruck,” and Val as a teen actress in the youth-oriented show, “Click.” Both have proven their acting prowess through various soaps. They also happen to have special talents – Jen in singing, and Val in dancing. They even share the same manager.
Because of their undeniable appeal, both Jennylyn and Valerie have graced the covers of popular men’s magazines. But seeing them for the first time, you’d never guess this other special thing which they have in common: They are both very proud mothers!
What keeps them sexy and beautiful? That’s another thing they have in common. Both Jennylyn and Valerie trust the Belo Medical Group, under the expert hands of “doctor to the stars,” Dr. Victoria Belo.
Aside from a proper diet and a bit of exercise, they both go to Belo for non-invasive body contouring sessions with Novashape. Now, these young moms have no problem staying young and sexy!
Their only problem is how to ward off persistent suitors, saying that they don’t have any time yet for any commitment as their focus is entirely on their careers and their respective young off-springs!
