K-pop boy band SS501 will be coming back to the Korean music scene on May 1 by releasing a new album.

Fans are anticipating their comeback following the conclusion of their Asian tour.

Last year, SS501 spent most of the time outside Korea. They released their second Japanese album “All My Love” in May.

In August, the boy band embarked on their first Asia Tour Persona concert which kicked off in Seoul and proceeded to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai.

Then in October, SS501 released their second mini-album “Rebirth” which featured the song “Love Like This.” The song earned them three awards on Korean musical shows.

They held their Persona encore concert last February 27 at the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium where more than 15,000 fans attended. They were joined by female pop groups KARA and Rainbow, which are also being managed by DSP Entertainment. The concert signaled the end of their Asian tour.

The group is currently preparing songs for the upcoming album.

SS501 is composed of Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Kyu Jong, Heo Young Saeng, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon.

Last March 1, the boy band won the best official soundtrack (OST) award at the Cyworld Digital Music Awards for their song “Because I’m Stupid” which was used in the hit drama series “Boys over Flowers." Kim Hyun Joong also starred in the drama.

SS501 debuted in 2005 in the Korean music scene. Besides releasing albums in the Korea, they also promoted their music overseas by releasing two albums in Japan.
