One killed, four hurt in Negros three-vehicle mishap

BACOLOD CITY - A tricycle driver died while his four passengers were injured after they figured in a multiple vehicular accident in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Monday.

Police Lt. Gina Fernandez, deputy police chief of Cadiz City Police Station, identified the fatality as Rodrigo Magbanua, 53, of Barangay Zone 2.

Fernandez said the tricycle driven by Magbanua hit a multicab it was tailing, then swerved and overlapped into the opposite lane where it collided with a canter truck.

Fernandez said that Magbanua succumbed to severe injuries while his passengers were already stable in a hospital.

Fernandez said the multicab and canter truck drivers are under police custody for further investigation.
