70% of local execs to boost Gibo bid
At least 71 percent of local government officials seeking re-election will intensely campaign for the candidacy of Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. to make up for his lack of visibility on television and other media advertisements.
Senatorial bet Raul Lambino said hundreds of Lakas-Kampi-CMD candidates running for re-election in various local posts are proud to campaign for Teodoro as the party standard-bearer for the May 10 elections that they have vowed to play a key role in enlightening voters about his qualifications.
Lambino said party bets will be more than pleased to boast that Lakas-Kampi-CMD is offering the country not only the most qualified and capable presidential candidate but someone who also presents a clear and most acceptable platform of government.
Lambino expressed belief that results of recent surveys that shows it was a battle only between Senators Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar could be misleading since the two are the only candidates visible in television and other media advertisements.
“I believe the respondents of the survey are currently banking mainly on paid political advertisements. That would significantly change when local candidates start campaigning for national candidates beginning March 26,” said Lambino.
Lambino stressed that Lakas-Kampi-CMD has fielded candidates for every positions in all parts of the country, compared to other political parties who desperately tried but failed to get the support of most of the local political leaders.
He said that it would be the local candidates who will serve as “light bearers” for their constituents as to who among the presidential bets has a sense of direction in further moving the country forward.
“Our local Lakas-Kampi-CMD candidates will further enlighten the public that the best choice to continue the economics gains that the country has posted is Gibo Teodoro,” Lambino said.
He also called on the public not to be misled by the survey results which seemingly condition the mind of the public that Noynoy Aquino and Manny Villar are the two best options for the presidency.
The 1,200 or 1,500 respondents often used by survey firms in their survey operations could not practically represent the voice or sentiment of the more than 40 million registered voters according to Lambino.
“The moment you believe in survey results, that would be the time you would be robbed of your independence and intelligence as a voter,” said Lambino.
