More than P19.2 million worth of “fake products” have been seized from various warehouses and stores in Metro Manila, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Wednesday, July 19.
It said the “fake products” consisted of “counterfeit perfumes, towels, and undergarments bearing the trademarks of Gucci, Victoria’s Secret, and Bath&Body Works worth P19,201,700.00.”
The “fake products” were seized during operations conducted by the NBI-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR).
It said that “NBI-NCR applied for Search Warrants against two (2) warehouses located in Caloocan City and Valenzuela City; two (2) stores in Baclaran Terminal Plaza 1; two (2) stores in Carriedo Plaza; and a store in Two Shopping Center.”
It added that the warrants were sought based on “complaint file before the NBI-NCR requesting investigation and a stop to the proliferation and distribution of counterfeit products, which compromise the health and safety of the public by buying sub-standard and unsafe products.”
