Twenty-six female overseas Filipino workers arrived Thursday afternoon to the country after they were repatriated by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in Qatar.
The OWWA said that the workers arrived at about 3:30 p.m. on board QR 646 after they have paid for the plane tickets.
OWWA Administrator Carmelita Dimzon said that the 26 female OFWs were reported to the immigration police by their employer as having breached their employment contract by running away.
Dimzon said that the workers are mainly household services workers stranded for several months in Qatar until their foreign employers issued exit clearances. Negotiations for the clearances sometimes could take months.
