Malacanang says 34 quarters of growth provided a stable RP economy. The rich are stable; the poor work in the stable.

Erap’s campaign bus looks like a cinema blockbuster poster. He’s gone a long way from Jeep ni Erap!

Brownouts in, Meralco prices up. Law of supply and demand.

SNAMMM. The Special Non-Aligned Ministerial Meeting (NAM) on Interfaith Dialogue, postponed in the aftermath of Ondoy, opens tomorrow at the PICC (March 16-18).

PGMA offered to host SNAMM at the 15th NAM summit at Sharam El-Sheik in Egypt as RP’s contribution to international solidarity and dialogue.

SNAMM is more meaningful that our Coalition of the Willing (COW) in Iraq, (where we turned tail on when Angelo dela Cruz was hostaged), and more relevant than our virtual expertise non- proliferation
treaty on nuclear weapons.

We can talk Interfaith Dialogue from experience - our search for peace in Southern Philippines and the cooperation between our bishops and ulamas.

We have shining examples: Archbishop of Manila Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales has intervened to spare the mosque in Baclaran across the pilgrim site of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Dylan Wilk, 9th richest under-30 in UK who retired from luxury to join Gawad Kalinga (and eventually became son-in-law of founder Tony Meloto) recounted the miracle when a Christian was killed in Mindanao by a Moslem. Instead of asking for blood money, GK Christians built homes for the Moslem community.

This exemplary act was reciprocated by the Moslems, who in turn began to build homes for their Christian brothers.

All hands on deck for DFA. To get anything done, Foreign Secretary Alberto G. Romulo goes to the busiest man. So he summoned Ambassador Domingo Lucinario Jr. from South Africa (who realized the machine-readable and e-passports) and Ambassador Maria Angelina Sta. Catalina from Finland (for protocol assistance).

NO JOKING MATTER. My blurb in this column that Tiger Woods convert to Moslem to solve his proclivity drew admonition from Achmed Tilla II that Moslem men are entitled to four wives… if they can provide and care for them equally… and if they can abide by their marriage vows. Adulterers are stoned.

MISCELLANY. Vice Governor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said that errant traffic enforcers willl be summarily dismissed. He wanted to transfer them to garbage collection but Comelec does not allow this.

No recourse to appeal beyond Jude Thaddeus, the Saint of desperate cases. Danish wind energy firm Vestas Wind Systems establishes IT hub in RP. We have lots of windbags here.

Money supply growth slows to 8.1%. Comelec should not slowdown money velocity by preventing candidates form distributing peso bills.

Industry posts 36.6% growth in car sales. I hope we have 36% growth in our roads.

Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim tops Gates, Buffet as world’s richest man in Forbes list. This slim is fat cat. But he doesn’t even own a home in Forbes Park.

Manila Economic and Cultural Office Representative Antonio Basilio targets high end tourism from Taiwan honeymooners, corporate travel and yuppies from Taiwan. They’ll shop at Greenbelt 5, not 168.
