Manny Pacquiao threw Clottey the "pompyang" punch

People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao had done the Filipinos proud again for keeping hold of the WBO Welterweight Champion title by defeating Joshua “The Mastermind” Clottey of Ghana on March 14.
After 12 rounds (during which Joshua was able to valiantly keep Manny at bay) at the jam-packed Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Texas, Pacman was declared champion via unanimous decision against his Ghanaian challenger.
One of the highlights of “The Event” was Manny’s “pompyang punch” ala Fernando Poe Jr. Pacquiao threw both a right and a left hook at the same time against Clottey, prompting referee Rafael Ramos to call for a quick break to warn the champion.
“Binibiro ko lang si Freddie [Roach, Manny’s trainer]… ginawa ko ‘yun [nung training], sabi ko, I’m gonna do this in the fight,” the pound-per-pound king recounted on “Showbiz Central,” chuckling.
While some criticized his opponent as a “dirty player”—hitting Manny below the belt, stepping on his feet, and punching the side of his head while shoving him—the boxing champ defended Joshua, saying, “Hindi naman. He’s a nice man.”
The two seem to have mutual respect for each other, as they gave each other a brotherly hug before the final round.
Manny is set to hold a concert in Hawaii before returning to RP.
