Showing the zero-energy building trend
Creating better homes with a smaller carbon footprint – the kind that uses less resources and more ingenuity – that’s the challenge facing modern builders today in an environmentally sensitive era.
And in their 15th year, Worldbex, the biggest construction exposition in Asia is taking on the challenge.
They will be flying in Arch. Tai Lee Siang from Singapore to deliver a talk entitled “Green Cities-Signatory Project: Zero Energy Building.” Lee Siang’s talk is part of the Worldbex Seminars series, a three-day session of talks delivered by top-notch sustainable design architects and interior designers from all over the world.
Making his presentation, Arch. Tai will demonstrate how environmental sustainability began 40 years ago in Singapore – even before the term was coined. He will share the Garden City’s approach to planning, early master planning of the entire island and Active Beautiful and Clean (ABC) Water Program as some examples of their early initiatives. The presentation looks at the unique challenges of taking Singapore to the next level of environmental sustainability dealing with issues such as social, economic and environmental sustainability in a holistic manner.
An indispensable source of information and technology for industry professionals, Worldbex has always tapped speakers willing to share the ideas that would help shape futures, make design dreams a reality and move nations into the 21st century. The construction fair will showcase the latest building materials and technology from March 17 to 21 at the World Trade Center, WTC Air Conditioned Tent & Philippine Trade Training Center.
A variety of topics will be discussed in the seminars, from living stylishly and efficiently in small spaces, to proper urban planning that will avert possible disasters. Each day from March 18 to 20 will feature four speakers who will share their expertise.
Worldbex 2010 is an event in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation, with sponsors like Boysen and Davies, Hunter Douglas, HCG, Mariwasa, Lepanto Tiles, WilsonArt, Puyat Steel, Puyat Flooring and Cubes International.
