Nokia awarded Philippines’ No. 1 mobile phone brand by GfK Asia
Nokia was awarded the Philippines’ No. 1 Mobile Phone Brand Award for 2009 by GfK Asia, a German-based market research institute recently.
The GfK Awards are being presented to the top selling brands, according to the GfK retail audit data in each category and in each country in the Asia Pacific region. Nokia has already won major awards in the past.
Nokia was given the Award for being the largest selling mobile phone brand in the Philippines from the period of January to December 2009.
While presenting the award, Glenn Pantig, GfK Sr. Account Manager for Convergence Technologies said that the win reaffirms Nokia’s position as the leader in the mobile phone product category.
“It is an honor to have been awarded as the country’s No.1 mobile phone brand by GfK for the past 4 years,” said Benoit Nalin, General Manager, Nokia Philippines. “It puts pressure on our company to stay focused on our vision of connecting people in new and different ways – fusing advanced mobile technology with personalized services to enable people to stay close to what matters to them.”
