Man rapes 12-year-old with mental disability he claims to be his partner
The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a 50-year-old man who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl with mental disability whom he claimed to be his live-in partner.
The MPD identified the suspect as Bobby Arellana, a resident of Port Area, Manila.
The suspect said in a media interview that he did not force the victim because they have been in a relationship for almost two months now.
However, MPD Baseco Police Station (PS-13) Commander Lt. Col. Emmanuel Gomez said there was no evidence to prove the suspect's claim.
Gomez added that they found out that the victim has a mental disability and was reportedly raped multiple times before she managed to escape from the suspect.
Police said that the victim was brought by a certain “Beth” and another woman who served as a pimp to the suspect's house at around 6 a.m. on Jan. 25.
The victim said the suspect raped her and threatened to harm her family if she reports the incident.
She also said that the suspect would slap her using his mobile phone whenever she tried to escape and when she did not follow his orders.
The victim managed to escape and reported the incident to her cousin.
The victim, together with her cousin and some personnel of Barangay 649, Zone 48 in Port Area, went to PS-13 to report the abuse.
The police immediately went to the suspect's house where he was arrested.
The suspect was arrested for charges of statutory rape and violation of the anti-child abuse law.
