LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – Fans of television host and actress Kris Aquino will still see her at her longrunning talk show “The Buzz” every Sunday.

This, after Kris told reporters here that she is not quitting on any of her shows even if the negative propaganda against Senator Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III worsens and tirades against her person aggravate in view of the election season.

It was recalled that Kris turned emotional last weekend when she disclosed that she considers quitting "The Buzz" after an incident with co-host Ruffa Gutierrez, which earned the ire of the latter’s mother, Annabelle Rama. Gutierrez’s alleged walkout prompted Rama to urge the public not to vote for Senator Aquino.

"No, no, no," she said. "Actually, if you review carefully what I said last Sunday, I said my sisters reminded me that there is no quitter in our family and that is clear. So I will be there on Sunday,” Kris said.

Kris and her cager-husband James Yap accompanied Aquino and his running mate Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas in visiting last Thursday the Northern Luzon provinces of Isabela, Tuguegarao, Laoag and Vigan.

Considered a crowd-drawer in the presidential campaign of Senator Aquino, Kris said she will continue to campaign for her senator-brother despite her busy showbusiness schedule. Aside from “The Buzz,” Kris is a mainstay of primetime soap opera “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” a new talent-search show “Pilipinas Got Talent,” and a top-rating showbiz news program “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” where she recently took a leave of absence after figuring in an accident due to fatigue and lack of sleep.

“Kawawa naman ang ABS-CBN, kailangan pa rin naman ako for the ratings," she said, adding that she agreed to help campaign for the senator on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and on other important days that her presence might be needed.

When asked why she is being targeted by Senator Aquino’s rivals in politics, Kris straightforwardly said that she is famous.

“Let’s admit it, I’m famous. That is the truth,” she said. “If I have no name and no asset, they won’t bother to even think of me. I’ll be a fool to keep on thinking about them so I’ll just focus on those people who love me.”
