Toni Rose denies son committed suicide
James Edward Lim, the son of “Eat Bulaga” co-host Toni Rose Gayda, died on Friday. Rosa Rosal’s 26-year-old grandson fell from the 4th floor balcony of the family’s condominium unit in Mandaluyong, DZMM reported.
Contrary to speculations, Toni Rose told “TV Patrol World” that her son did not commit suicide. James’ body has been cremated. His remains are transfered to the Santuario San Jose (on Friday and Saturday) in Greenhills before his ashes are taken back to their home.
Bea on John Lloyd-Angel teamup
It has been confirmed that Angel Locsin will no longer be doing “Kokey @ Ako” to give way for taping a teleserye with John Lloyd Cruz. Toni Gonzaga will replace Angel in “Kokey.”
Being John Lloyd’s onscreen partner for more than eight years now (and just so happy to be reunited again via “Miss You Like Crazy”) Bea Alonzo said she’s delighted that a fine actress like Angel will be paired with John Lloyd.
In the press launch of her newest endorsement for Colour Collection, Bea expressed her endearment for the two, “I’m a John Lloyd fan kasi. Kaya happy ako na makakatambal niya [Angel] ang isa sa pinakamagaling na actor [John Lloyd] ng generation na ito. Tapos si Angel, Emmy nominated actress pa kaya nakakatuwa na magsasama sila.”
Asked what advice she can give to Angel, Bea smilingly answered, “Wag na baka magalit si Lloydie (John Lloyd’s nickname). Basta i-enjoy niya lang ang pagtatrabaho kasi magaling at masayang kasama si Lloydie.”
Bea will soon be taping a teleserye with Gretchen Barretto (the supposed Claudine-Gretchen Barretto tandem which didn’t materialize because of the sudden transfer of the former to GMA-7) and will do another Star Cinema movie with Lorna Tolentino, to be helmed by Laurice Guillen.
New York Post: Charice is Pop Princess
Charice has been crowned “new pop princess” by the New York Post. Her song “Pyramid” was cited in New York Post’s PopWrap’s fave five article for March 17.
The story described Charice as the “new little chick...whose mountain-and-valley vocals (that means range, kids) are the only reason you will need to fall in love with her sound.”
Charice sent this reaction to abs-cbnnews.com: “I really can’t believe po na kasama ko sa iisang topic si Lady Gaga. Super fan po niya ako. To be crowned as the New Pop Princess, it’s really an honor for me. Nanginig ako nung nabasa ko. Feeling ko, ang laking responsibilidad kasi po dating Pop Princess si Britney Spears po. Nagpapasalamat po ako hindi lang po sa mga Pinoy na sumusuporta sa akin kundi lahat po ng supporters sa iba’t-ibang bansa. Mapa-Amerikano man po o kahit ano po, salamat po sa lahat.”
