LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – At least 21,022 farmers are expected to benefit from a government
program that saw the distribution of 190 water pumps to irrigators in this province.

Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. said the water pump distribution is part of the emergency mitigation measures to help farmers who are mostly affected by the on-going dry spell.

Amado said the 190 water pumps have been awarded to 45 irrigators’ associations in the province as of March 18.

These irrigators are distributed in the areas of Eastern, Central and Western Pangasinan, covering a service area of 10,101 hectares.
