Welcome back, People’s Champ Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquaio!
Once again, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao emerged victorious as he dominated his opponent in his last fight at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in the United States.
With 50,994 fans – the biggest fight crowd in the United States in 17 years – cheering him at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas, Pacquiao systematically demolished his opponent – Joshua Clottey of Ghana. One ringside judge gave Pacquiao every round, while the two others gave him all but one. The Associated Press gave every round to the Filipino. The fight was not as animated as his earlier bouts, with his opponent Joshua Clottey merely defending himself from the barrage of punches thrown by Manny, but the successful defense of his welterweight title added another colorful chapter to the career of the People’s Champ.
Recently named the Athlete of the Decade by the Philippine Sportswriters Association, the People’s Champ cemented his reputation as the most celebrated athlete of this young century. Like President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and the rest of the nation, we rejoice in the win of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, acknowledging his winning formula for success of unselfish patriotism and unyielding perseverance.
Mabuhay si Manny Pacquiao!
