5th Makati e-Fair opens Monday
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be at the forefront Monday as the Division of City Schools of Makati opens its fifth annual Education Fair (e-Fair).
Elena Ruiz, Department of Education (DepEd)-Makati superintendent, said the 5th e-Fair will again showcase their efforts and initiatives in promoting the use of ICT to improve teaching and learning processes in the city’s public schools.
“The yearly conduct of the e-fair has contributed greatly to bringing us closer to realizing our mutual goal of producing globally competitive graduates who are capable of succeeding in their chosen fields here or abroad,” Ruiz said.
The three-day fair will run from Monday to Wednesday at the DepEd-Makati Division Office, Governor Noble Street, Guadalupe Nuevo between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Starting off the Makati e-Fair in high gear is the 3rd J.C. Binay Robotics Cup and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Skills Competition.
Ruiz said the Robotics Cup will include open and regular categories in which all elementary and high schools in the division of Makati may join. DepEd-Makati started to include Robotics in its curriculum after winning in the Philippine and World Robotics Olympiads in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Robotics is a science and technology program using higher science concepts application and dealing with the design, construction and operation of robots in automation, Ruiz noted.
