South Forbes

A backyard for golf
April 12, 2010, 3:18pm

How great it is to still have a backyard these days when, with the unbelievable price tag attached to a piece of property, homes are maximized to the limits of the lot if only to fit in every single room needed.

Indeed, having a backyard, even a small one, is a luxury. Gone are the days… or are they?

“Sentosa Heights is now the most exclusive and celebrated territory in all of South Forbes, right in the heart of our 18-hole golf course,” said Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng.

South Forbes Golf City is the largest fully-integrated, self-sustaining, and all-themed golf resort city at the heart of the Metro Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay corridor. It has been cited as Best Golf Community Development by the CNBC International Property Awards, a prestigious property awards program.

Paradise island. Akin to Singapore’s most popular island resort, Sentosa Heights is prestigious with only 29 lots available – all offering coveted views of the golf course. With its exclusive nature of having limited lots and its location surrounded by nothing but the fairway, it realizes the Malay definition of sentosa, which means peace and tranquility.

“These fairway lots range from 800 to 1,700 sqm and will initially sell at R17,000 per sqm,” Mr. Ng added.

Lookout tower. The Stamford model unit is the most striking among all model homes within and beyond South Forbes, being built on the steepest side of the enclave. It is a slender four-story home – a standard -looking two-story house in front but the surprise is from the back. All rooms have fairway views with generous sunlight and cool breeze, guaranteeing its residents perfect relaxation.

From the road, a pristine-white wall conceals a front lawn on one side with a four-car garage on the other. One reaches the foyer via a stone-paved entry walk where a linear pool runs alongside its length, guiding visitors to the main door.

Upon entering, a glass corridor leads to the dining area and kitchen. Further in is the living room which is adjacent to an interesting five-meter cantilevered balcony with a view of the valley part of the golf course.

The entire second level is every homeowner’s dream with it devoted to the master suite, enveloped totally with treated glass panels, yet maintaining that visual privacy from the outside.

The lower levels hold spacious children’s bedrooms and a meditation pad at the base ideally located among the greenery and garden near the golf course.

Stirring panorama. The Raffles house understands the value of the view. Every room has a corner where one can appreciate the beauty of nature, either with full glass panels as walls or a cozy balcony where one can lounge about. Surely, the cool, gentle breeze, the melodious birdsong, and the relaxing view can lull one to sleep in an instant.

One can already glimpse the features of the home even from the road with a feature glass wall by the main door. Awe is the word as soon as one enters the Raffles with a high-ceilinged living area and a view of the blue sky at the end of the hallway. The flight of stairs leading to the lowest level reveals an infinity-edge pool with the golf course as a backdrop.

Emerald carpet. Living close to a world-class 18-hole golf course like that of the South Forbes Golf and Leisure Club is a privilege not everyone has. The golf clubhouse is just a stone’s throw away from the Sentosa Heights main gate.
